The John Lennon Songwriting Contest attracts a steady flow of great songs across twelve categories. considered one of the country’s best songwriting competitions, it usually has some strong songwriters with some great songs across a wide array of genres.

2014 Session I Grand Prize Winners

 Songwriter: Laura Crane 
Living in Valley Village CA, Lalo is a Berklee College of Music grad and performs in the duo Freckles.
Resides in New Jersey but has made a career in Nashville TN, starting Demolition Music Publishing to help other songwriters advance their careers. He has over 25 song cuts and is a four time top ten finalist in the annual CMT – NSAI Songwriters Contest.
Lijie is a Seattle-based performer and songwriter who is classically trained in piano and appears twice on this list of winners!
Is a self-describer Bluntry artist (Blues + Country) who hails from Memphis TN. You may recognize her from Season 4 of The Voice.

Lijie is a Seattle-based songwriter and performer who also took the grand prize in the Electronic category.

Resides in Austin TX and was recently profiled on NPR’s All Things Considered.
