Wildflower Performing Songwriter Contest

Each year the Wildflower Al Johnson Performing Songwriter Contest encourages the growth of the art of independent performing singer-songwriters.

The genres include Acoustic, Americana, Bluegrass, Blues, Celtic, Country and Folk. Past finalists include Ruthie Foster, Beth Wood, Karen Mal, Grace Pettis, Dave Carter, Louise Mosrie, Betty Soo, Matt Harlan, Butch Claude Morgan, RJ Cowdery, and Tom Faulkner.

Finalist announcement – April

Compete on the United HealthCare Singer Songwriter Stage for four (4) $500 prizes and the opportunity to perform on the Wildflower! CityLine Stage.

  • $20 per entry (One entry = 2 songs)
  • Only one entry per person

The 2018 Winners & Finalists 

The Top 10 Finalists will compete for cash prizes on Saturday

4 winners will be featured in a “spotlight round” on Sunday afternoon on the Singer Songwriter Stage

 
WILDFLOWER PERFORMING SONGWRITER CONTEST PRIZES

 

  • One of four prizes:
    • First Prize: $1000 + 2 full consecutive days of recording at Audio Dallas Recording Studio
    • Second Prize: $500
    • Michael Terry People’s Choice” Award –$500.
  • Opportunity of a lifetime to spend a weekend swapping songs with some of the best performing songwriters in the nation.
  • Participation in the Songwriting Contest Showcase on Sunday, May 19, 2019
